I am a currently a Software Engineering Manager for a Site Reliability Engineering organization in the FinTech space. I have always thought about creating a tech blog, and now seems like a good time since we are all quarantined due to COVID-19.
I started my career doing embedded system's programming writing VHDL code for FPGA boards, then moved into high level programing working as a Product Developer writing back-end logic for customer facing products using Java/J2EE, and eventually moved into the Site Reliability Engineering arena. Somewhere in between I had a two year stint as a Technical Product Manager, which was a great learning experience. I was also a technical cofounder of a start-up that, even though it didn't make us any money, it gave me some really good happy hour stories, very close friendships, and amazing life lessons. In terms of education, I have a B.S. in Computer Engineering from George Mason University and a M.S. in Computer Science from George Washington University.
I will keep this post short since the goal of this page is to share some of the side tech projects I have and the learnings I come across. As an Engineering Manager, hands-on side projects don't only keep me up to date with the tech stack but also make me really happy!
